Marian Dunlea M.Sc., ISJA, IAAP, is a Jungian analyst and somatics practitioner who has been leading workshops internationally for the past 30 years integrating body and soul. She is head of the BodySoul Europe training programme, part of the Marion Woodman Foundation. With the development of her unique approach BodyDreaming, Marian incorporates developments in neuroscience, trauma therapy, attachment theory with Jungian psychology, and the phenomenological standpoint of interconnectedness. Her book, BodyDreaming in the Treatment of Developmental Trauma, Routledge won the Gradiva Award for best book, 2019 with NAAP - National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis and is Co-Winner of the International Association for Jungian Studies 2020 Best book award. https://www.mariandunlea.com


Patricia Llosa, MFA, LP, is a Peruvian-American Jungian analyst in private practice in New York City. She earned her undergraduate degree in archaeology and art history from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and did graduate work at The School of Visual Arts.  For more than 20 years she worked as an administrator and educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  A graduate of Marion Woodman’s BodySoul Rhythms® Leadership Training Program, a Woodman Foundation Faculty Member and Board Member for 15 years she has taught workshops in Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Peru, and Spain. Presently, she serves on the board of The Archive for Research in Archetypal Symbolism and is on the faculty of the Assisi Institute and the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association.

Organisational

• To deputise in the absence of the counselling service manager as required

• Be the first point of contact with internal & external referral agents

Clinical

• To provide phone support to clients expressing suicide ideation/deliberate self harm, and make approaite stabilisation support plan.
• To provide advice and support to other staff in developing crisis stabilisation plans.
• Develop and take responsibility for administration and communication of out of hours staff rota.
• To attend for regular internal line management and external clinical supervision in accordance with professional code of ethics and organisational policy.
• Facilitate informal drop in counselling clinic programme as directed by manager which will include evening and weekends.

Participants are required for an upcoming research study regarding subject of client shame  

The research is part of my MSc in humanistic and integrative psychotherapy at Turning Point Institute and University College Cork.  

Shame is believed to be a common experience - some say the most common emotion experienced by therapy clients - and therapy itself can be a shaming experience.  However, shame is often hidden (no one likes to talk about feeling shame - even to our therapist).  The study is interested in hearing about therapists' experiences of client shame.  How it is recognised in clients and how best to work through shame – what worked with clients and what did not.  The study is also interested in participants who as counsellors/psychotherapists have experienced shame themselves when working with clients including any impact on the therapeutic relationship and practice.   

Eligibility

Participants must be pre-accredited or accredited psychotherapists/counsellors with the IAHIP or IACP and be practicing in Ireland.  No specialist knowledge of the subject is required - just an openness to discuss your views based on your reflection and experience with clients. 

If you meet the above eligibility criteria and would like to take part in the study, you will be invited to attend an interview that will take approximately one hour, at a mutually agreed time and place (due to coronavirus restrictions the interview is likely to take place online via zoom).  Your participation is entirely voluntary.
