Training as a Psychotherapist

One of IAHIP's core objectives is to set and maintain standards of relevant psychotherapy training and practice. We recognise a variety of external courses that are training to this standard and we offer internal workshops for our members and associates.

RECOGNISED TRAINING COURSES

While we don't offer course accreditation we recognise that courses are preparing students to meet the IAHIP accreditation criteria.

Course providers can apply for course recognition by emailing admin@iahip.org.

Applicants for accreditation who have not selected a training from this list you will need to make sure that the course you select meets the criteria laid down in our current accreditation criteria which can be found in our Accreditation Section of our Website.

Trainees graduated from IAHIP-recognised psychotherapy training courses are eligible to receive the ‘IAHIP Certificate of Professional Training in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy’ when joining/renewing with IAHIP. This certification provides an explicit and robust professional declaration that the successful graduate has acquired the knowledge, competence and skills and has developed the inter- and intra-personal capacities that are core to a humanistic and integrative psychotherapy practice. This is a manifest recognition of the professional aspect of their training, equal to but different and separate from any academic validation that applies to their course.

If you do not select a training from this list you will need to make sure that the course you select meets the criteria laid down in our current  accreditation criteria.  The details of this can be found in our Accreditation Section of our Website.

Visits to Training Centres

IAHIP has developed a presentation for students of psychotherapy training about IAHIP, training requirements, student associate membership and possible future accreditation with the Association.

The presentation can be brought out to the training centre/s, by a representative of IAHIP, and presented to a student group at a mutually agreed time.

If a training school is interested in receiving a visit and presentation please contact the Administrator  with your enquiry: admin@iahip.org
