Accreditation

In order to apply for accreditation, you will need to meet a set of standards as defined by IAHIP. You will find full details in the following document, please click to view (Bye Law 11)

For the purposes of first time accreditation please be sure of the following:

Supervision of clinical practice whether Phase 1 or Phase 2 must be face-to-face to be eligible to be counted towards Accreditation i.e. no Skype, Phone, Facetime etc. Should exceptional circumstances arise with your supervisor, where face-to-face is not possible for a short period, these circumstances must be clearly documented and included in the application for consideration [6] The above ruling on Skype effective from 2nd March 2019. For Covid 19 exceptional circumstances please see Addendum 1 and 2 on the Website.

Within the 500 hours, evidence is required from your supervisor of working with at least one client for 40 hours or more. The rest of the hours can be a mixture of long-term and short-term work.

Online clinical practice / supervision / training

Applicants for Accreditation please be aware that when applying for your accreditation if there has been any online clinical practice/supervision/training you must fill in the appropriate Addendum Forms to accompany your Accreditation Application.  Failure to do this and or supply necessary documentation will delay your application.

Addendum 1 Form covers all requirements and guidelines for the period 11th March, 2020 to 4th October, 2020 only for Students/Pre-Accredited applicants regarding any video/phone (where appropriate) for Clinical Practice, Supervision, Personal Therapy, Didactic Supervision and Group Therapy hours.

Addendum 2 Form covers all requirements and guidelines for the period 5th October, - 1st Sept, 2021 only for Pre-Accredited Applicants regarding video/phone (where appropriate) for Clinical Practice, Supervision, Personal Therapy, Didactic Supervision and Group Therapy hours.
