    Irish Analytical Psychology Association

    Presents live on Zoom

    Thursday, 3rd April 2025: 19:30 – 21:00 (Irish time)

A Jungian Analyst During the War in Ukraine:
    Challenges and Lessons Learned

    Svitlana Shevchenko, MA

    Jungian Analyst

Svitlana Shevchenko is not a famous Jungian analyst, she has not created a new theory, she has not written a book. The only thing that stands out about her is that there has been a war in her country for almost three years now - a war in which Russia is killing her people day after day, trying to destroy Ukraine and everything Ukrainian. She lives and works in Zaporozhye, 30 kilometres from the front line, in a city that is constantly bombed and shelled. But she lives and works, and sometimes she wonders how she manages to do it. Her talk will be about her personal experience, her view of this war and, above all, her work with clients. On the one hand, it is a unique experience, and on the other hand, it is an experience that she shares with her people.

Svitlana Shevchenko, Master of Psychology, Jungian analyst, medical psychologist, member of the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and the Ukrainian Analytical Psychology Development Group (UDG IAAP). She has been working with adults, children, support groups and dream groups for over 20 years. She is particularly interested in dream interpretation, transformational alchemy, myths and shadow work, and conducts training seminars on these and

other important Jungian topics. Currently, as president of the Ukrainian Association of Analytical Psychology, she is focusing on building a new Jungian community.
