Ready to work confidently with couples?

This 5-day core training offers therapists a grounded, practical entry into relationship therapy — combining key relational theory with hands-on tools and experiential learning.

Led by Karen Murphy (MIACP), the course helps you build clarity, confidence, and competence in working with the complexity of intimate relationships.

You’ll learn how to:

• Understand relationships through core frameworks — including differentiation, Gestalt and systemic models.

• Confidently assess couples using structured tools and pre-therapy processes.

• Facilitate meaningful change by addressing negative cycles, communication breakdowns, and emotional disconnection.

• Work effectively with common challenges such as affairs, sexual issues, parenting stress, and life transitions.

• Integrate family-of-origin and intergenerational patterns into your clinical understanding.

• Support diverse relationships — including non-monogamous, LGBTQ+, and intercultural couples.

• Navigate complex dynamics such as high conflict, trauma, and ethical dilemmas.

• Structure sessions clearly, from first contact through ongoing work and individual meetings.

• Use creative and experiential methods to deepen emotional insight and connection.

This training provides a steady, supported pathway into relational work — ideal for therapists curious about couples therapy or seeking to strengthen their clinical foundation.
