Exploring Therapists Perspectives on Potential Applications and Interrelations of the Horror Film Genre to Psychotherapy Theories and Clinical Practice.

Hi! My name is Michaela Neylan, and I am a final year Psychotherapy student at Dublin City University. I am looking for interested psychotherapists that are:

• Accredited by a recognised national counselling organisation (e.g. I.A.C.P, I.A.H.I.P).
• Attending regular clinical supervision.
• Any gender aged 18 years and above.
• Fluent in English.

Psychotherapists work with themes that exist within the horror film genre, daily in their clinic. The potential benefits of taking part may include adding to dialogue in how psychotherapists understand and relate to horror films and the themes within. Through exploring and sharing the impact of film (especially with mental health themes that are taboo or dark) psychotherapists may be better able to relate to difficult experiences or feelings in their client work.
