Dr Stephanie Swales (Principal Investigator) and Bernadette Moran (Secondary Investigator)are conducting a research project entitled “Recently Qualified Psychotherapists’ Experiences of how their Irish Psychotherapy Training has Informed their Awareness to EDI Concerns Within their Clinical Work.”
at the DCU School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health as part of an MSc Psychotherapy dissertation. The purpose of this research is to explore the psychotherapy training experiences of recently qualified psychotherapists, particularly their experiences relating to issues of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and how these experiences they share have prepared them for approaching EDI concerns in their psychotherapeutic clinical work. The researchers are inviting interested parties to take part in a no more than 60-minute, audio recorded interview about their experiences of EDI in their training and clinical work as part of this study. Inclusion/Exclusion criteria is as follows:
Inclusion Criteria:
Psychotherapists who have trained and are currently practicing in Ireland.
Psychotherapists who have been fully qualified and accredited within the past 5 years.
Psychotherapists that are accredited by a recognised national counselling organisation e.g. I.A.C.P OR I.A.H.I.P
Psychotherapists that are attending regular clinical supervision.
Psychotherapists that are fluent in English.
Exclusion Criteria:
Psychotherapists not accredited by a recognised national counselling organisation.
Psychotherapists that are not attending regular clinical supervision.
Psychotherapists who became qualified and accredited more than 5 years ago.
