This unique workshop will provide theory, practical tips, and time to reflect on your own ecological mindset and relationship with the natural world. It will also provide you with many tools to begin to develop and imagine your own Ecotherapy practice, whether that is indoors/online or working outdoors with individuals or groups. It will be held fully online but will be very interactive and include group discussion, breakout rooms, and nature-based exercises in participants’ own gardens. This workshop has now been run several times over the last four years and always receives great feedback.
Course Structure:
- This unique course is developed to allow participants to engage in a very interesting and blended learning experience.
- It is designed as a highly interactive small group training which will include periods of outdoor time.
- Participants will engage with natural environments local to them during the course – this may be a garden, local park, country road etc.
- Further outdoor experiences will be encouraged between workshops

Joanne Hanrahan is an IAHIP accredited Psychotherapist and Supervisor in private practice in Co Clare. She is also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) so works through a trauma informed lens and very much includes the body and movement in her practice. Joanne is passionate about including place in her approach to therapy, and completed her M.Sc. thesis on the topic of psychotherapy and the natural world.
