Lockdown: A view from a Jungian perspective
Jim Fitzgerald, Jungian Analyst
How are we to understand the collective event which has affected all of humanity over the past challenging times? While scientists and the medical experts search for an effective panacea, and governments are caught up in rule-making to safeguard their citizens, the therapeutic community makes so
me effort to throw light on the psychological significance and consequences of the pandemic. Through the Jungian lens we may be enabled to gain some understanding of the negative effects of Lockdown as well as appreciating its potentially healing significance.
Jim Fitzgerald trained as an analyst in The C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich. He is a Senior Member of the Independent Group of Analytical Psychologists in London. He has a private practice in London and has lectured widely.
