Mobile Technology, Covid-19, and Psychotherapy:

How do you engage with technology in your clinical practice?

 

Dear Colleague,

This is an invitation to participate in a study titled ‘An Investigation of Differences in Irish Psychotherapists' Use and Perception of Mobile Technology’ which is part of my thesis in the MSc of Psychotherapy at Dublin City University.

As technology becomes increasingly common in many aspects of our lives it is important to understand how psychotherapists perceive and utilize it in practice, particularly now with the outbreak of Covid-19.

Mobile technology includes many of the ways we interact with clients such as texting, email, phone calls, video calls, mobile phone applications ‘apps’, smart watches and other wearable technology, virtual reality, and more.

You are eligible to participate in this study if you are a student/trainee psychotherapist, pre-accredited psychotherapist, or accredited psychotherapist that has been seeing clients for at least one year and has been living and practicing in the Republic of Ireland during that time. This study consists of an online survey that will only take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and does not require having experience using mobile technology in a clinical setting. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and anonymous.
