A bloody mark upon a knee.

Not a sound.
Not a tear to see.  

Mummy says, ‘Big boys don’t cry’ –

Years have passed,
a family reared.
Those inner tears
must not be heard.  

A daughter says, ‘Big men don’t cry’  

My days are done,

My life is run!

May I cry?

Now?
