by Ger Matthews
Hiding in corners, afraid to come out
Don’t breathe, be still, don’t make a sound, don’t peep out
Tight, holding, nothing in, nothing out
A price being paid,
Will I survive?
Can I bear the pain that stirs inside?
Struggle to hold on,
Struggle to let go,
How can I liberate my soul?
Don’t strive
Don’t push
Don’t force
Just be
Breathe in – breathe out
Turn towards me
Just be
Just be kind to me.
