Gestalt, psychoanalytic and in depth developmental psychological exploration based on transactional analysis, internal family systems and attachment therapy. As a helpful adjunct CBT is also employed.
My aim is that a trusting relationship develops, where the client can express and explore emotions, difficulties and needs, in the hope to better understand conscious and unconscious thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The wish for change and learning I view with respect, and aim to facilitate in a safe , non-judgemental environment.
In relation to immigration, therapy is offered to issues around social integration, isolation, also social topics that arise within the spectrum of Autism and related behavioural issues.
Based on medical background, issues relating to chronic pain, long-term illness and infertility and birth related health problems are met with competent understanding.
A particular interest is around birth-related issues and subsequent developmental topics.
I facilitate adults, couples and adolescents and integrate their families in the therapeutic process and short- and long term therapy in English and German is offered.
Qualifications: advanced Diploma in Adolescent Gestalt Therapy awarded through the Blackfort Institute for Adolescent Gestalt Therapy.
BScHons in Psychology and BAHons in Counselling and Psychotherapy, awarded from the Open University and Cork Institute of Technology.
Professional foundation is in nursing.
Higher Certificate in Gestalt Theory and Advanced Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Accredited member with BPS (British Psychological Society) and Bord Altranais.
