Course Features
Developed as training for suitably qualified professionals who wish to work with children psychotherapeutically using visual images.
Provides students with an excellent grounding in the area of child mental health;
Provides a clinical placement within a multi-disciplinary child and adolescent mental health setting for the duration of the programme;
This two year, part-time taught masters programme was launched in 2000 in conjunction with the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and University College Dublin. The programme is currently delivered in the UCD School of Medicine, Catherine McAuley Education and Research Centre, Nelson Street, Dublin 7.
The School of Psychotherapy at St Vincent’s University Hospital offer to suitable graduates of the MSc a two-year post Masters clinical training to reach a four year period of training. Clinical placements for this post-Masters programme are in Tusla settings.
Eligibility Criteria
A third level, Honours degree or equivalent is required. Experience of working with children and adolescents within mental health or educational settings is an advantage. Short-listed candidates are interviewed to assess their suitability.
Application Details
The next Child Art Psychotherapy programme will begin in September 2019.
