Seeking participants with therapeutic
experience of clients with epilepsy
I am seeking to interview fully qualified and accredited psychotherapists who have experience in working with clients who have epilepsy.
As part of my integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with Turning Point Institute (accredited by UCC), I am conducting a qualitative research study. I would be grateful if you would give me the opportunity to interview you about this subject. The interview will be approximately 45-50 minutes in length and will be recorded and then transcribed.
The interview will consist of a series of open-ended questions related to the central research question. All interviews will be anonymized.
The research title is ‘A qualitative study exploring the client`s disclosure of an epilepsy diagnosis in therapy and its impact on the therapeutic relationship’ This research study is being supervised by Emma Jane Snee
The specific objectives of this study include but are not restricted as follows:
- To review the existing literature relating to therapists’ experience of clients’ disclosure of epilepsy.
- To examine the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of psychotherapists working with clients with epilepsy.
- To explore therapists’ experiences of the impact of a client’s disclosure of their epilepsy on the therapist, the therapeutic relationship, and how they manage these within their practice.
- To improve knowledge, awareness and attitudes towards epilepsy and those who have this condition.
If you are interested in taking part in the study and would like further information, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or text/phone me on 087-0994330
