Diamond Approach Ireland
The Diamond Approach offers an experiential understanding and awareness of our personality and of our deeper nature. It is an open approach, welcoming people where they are and helping them take the next steps appropriate to their own personal, unique development. The Diamond Approach grew out of, and in response to the needs of people leading ordinary lives in our current Western culture. It is an evolving path of self-realization and human maturity based on an original synthesis of modern discoveries in the field of psychology and a new paradigm about spiritual nature.
“The Diamond Approach is a superb combination of some of the best of modern Western psychology with ancient (and spiritual) wisdom. I recommend the Diamond Approach as probably the most balanced of the widely available spiritual psychologies/therapies” Ken Wilbur from the cover of “The Unfolding Now”
“A masterpiece of integration of both the spiritual and psychotherapeutic traditions which is essential material for anyone concerned with helping others to develop a deeper sense of personhood or to liberate themselves from the repetition compulsion to suffer that defines the neurotic condition” David Boadella from the cover of “Pearl beyond Price”
An ongoing group has formed that uses the in-depth experiential teachings of the DA to support the self realization and development of the group and of its individual members. The group meets in a weekend format four times a year and is still open to new participants. The meetings are held in Castletown, Port Laoise. The teaching team is led by Jim Terrien together with John Smalenskas and Breda Perrem, two teachers resident in Ireland who also carry out ongoing individual session work with Diamond Approach students.
Our next weekend will continue our focus on true will and support. Our investigation will include the ways we try to use fake will to fabricate a sense of support and how we’ve learned to compensate for the lack of genuine inner support. We want to examine how we learned these fake strategies, how they perhaps served us in some way in our lives and how we can go beyond these learned patterns of behavior in order to feel true will and support that originate from our love for the Truth. We will also continue to consider the role of the superego in keeping us fixated in this habituated way. You are welcome to join us.
