Head of Student Counselling/Student Counsellor (Permanent whole-time positions)
Cork Institute of Technology (Munster Technological University – Cork Campus) are currently recruiting for two permanent whole-time positions:
- Head of Student Counselling
- Student Counsellor
The Head of Student Counselling will play a crucial role in managing the interface between the University and the Counselling Service. He/she will oversee all aspects of clinical service delivery and working as part of a dynamic team provide a range of counselling responses and initiatives. He/she will oversee the implementation of clinical policies and procedures in delivering a safe, high quality, and effective clinical service as well as identifying and monitoring risk in relation to the service. The Head of Student Counselling will lead a team, currently consisting of a cohort of part time counsellors, together with some additional services from a number of trainee and intern psychotherapists.
The Student Counsellor offers a specialist professional service on a confidential basis to individual students who are experiencing personal difficulties which may be affecting their work. The Student Counsellor will play a key role in helping students with their academic progress and personal/social development through group counselling, seminars, and workshops.
