CALL  FOR  PAPERS

The Behavioral Mind: A Journal of Personality Disorders is a new scholarly journal from MacBain & Boyd Publishers launching in the Spring of 2018.

The birth and continued prominence of humanistic psychology, the Third Force, initiated by Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers, has proven pivotal in the continual dialogue, (not always pleasant but always productive), between the various schools of biological psychiatry and psychoanalysis, a fact that cannot be denied. This interface between the diagnostic labeling embraced by the DSM and the humanistic approach to psychotherapy embodied in the Third Force has proven most productive in the advancement of mental health treatment in the 20th and 21st centuries, and this publication, The Behavioral Mind: A Journal of Personality Disorders, is committed to creating a positive and productive environment for that ongoing discussion and dialogue.

This double-blind peer-reviewed journal is edited by John H. Morgan, Ph.D.(Hartford), D.Sc.(London), Psy.D.(FH/Oxford), recently retired Senior Fellow in Behavioral Science of Foundation House/Oxford (UK), supported by a distinguished Board of Editors. Morgan is author of the recent books Clinical Psychotherapy: A History of Theory and Practice (from Sigmund Freud to Aaron Beck) and Psychopathology: A Clinical Guide to Personality Disorders. The journal will be issued twice a year, in Spring and Fall, and will focus on fostering the work of adjunct and junior faculty teaching and researching in the field of psychology. The aim of this journal is to present a balance between the DSM and humanistic psychology.

The Behavioral Mind is currently accepting submissions for the Spring and Fall 2018 issues. Authors must submit articles as a Word document of between 5,000 and 7,500 words, complying with APA notation style. Articles must be copy edited prior to submission and submitted blind with attached cover sheet. Authors must hold an adjunct or faculty position at the collegiate level and must also hold complete copyright to the submitted article. Submit all materials to John H. Morgan, Editor-in-Chief, at editor.tbmjournal@gmail.com.

(There are no fees to authors or authors’ institutions for submission, evaluation, or publication of articles.)
