We have reached almost epidemic proportions of teenagers crippled with anxiety, many who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. These young people are struggling to attend school and navigate the social landscape. They exhibit all manner of anxiety symptoms including panic attacks, OCD, rigid eating and exercise patterns, overthinking and dreading the future. Gender diversity has also become a feature of contemporary adolescence for many, and there has been a sharp rise in the number of adolescents whose experience of their gender journey is figural through the teenage years.

Helping professionals struggle with knowing how to effectively support adolescents whose presentation is often entrenched. Many parents are also at a loss and looking to the therapist for answers and strategies.

    ‘THE HERO’S JOURNEY’

    Seven-Day Residential Experiential Workshop
    with Members of
The Fool’s Dance Gestalt Company – Paul Rebillot Group in Ireland

    OCTOBER 28TH – NOVEMBER 3RD 2023

Slí An Chroí, Kiltegan, Co. Wicklow

Do you have a sense that there could be more to life than the way that you are living now? Do you experience a yearning for further transformation?

‘The Hero’s Journey’ workshop gives us a chance to listen to that call from our deepest self. The Hero, in Paul Rebillot’s vision, is the potential within every human being to respond to that call, that challenge.

The late Paul Rebillot’s classic ‘Hero’s Journey’ workshop – based on the pattern of the universal ‘monomyth’ described by Joseph Campbell – is an exciting group structure involving a rich combination of Gestalt process and group-work with elements of myth, theatre, ritual, music, image-making and movement.

We discover the Hero within us and – having heard a Call to Adventure – we set off with her or him on a journey of exploration through our inner world.

On the journey, our Heroic Self encounters our inner Demon of Resistance. There is a confrontation between these two aspects of ourselves, an ordeal, a resolution and an integration. Returning to the world of the everyday, we explore how this inner transformation can continue to work in our lives beyond the workshop.

What previous participants said about ‘The Hero’s Journey’:

“A deep, embodied experience that is truly life-changing.”

“Honest, and well-guided journey into the unknown with skilled practitioners.”

“Very, very helpful. I’m not sure that I could have found what I was seeking without this space. Very full, and full of surprises.”

This week-long workshop offers a creative opportunity for personal growth and expansion. We invite you to experience the joy of connection with yourself and others in the beautiful surrounds of Slí an Chroí.
