IAHIP NORTH-WEST REGIONAL PEER GROUP

We would like to invite you to the next IAHIP Regional Peer Group meeting for members in the North-West.

The NW Regional Peer Group has been meeting online since the start of the pandemic – prior to this it had been meeting in Castlebar and was organised by our previous Regional Rep, Maeve Daly.

Moving the meeting online has proven to be an invaluable source of support for members in this widespread area. We are currently meeting approximately every month, and this has given everyone the opportunity to connect, share experiences and support each other in the region. Deepening relationships and new friendships have been forged as a result.

We are conscious that many members may feel disconnected from IAHIP and isolated from peers, especially those who work in private practise and in rural areas. We especially welcome and encourage recently accredited members to join.

An off shoot of the group has been the creation of a Psychotherapy Reading group which meets every 6 weeks to explore current topics in psychotherapy. Topics discussed have included climate change anxiety, gender issues, spirituality, creativity and suicide.

This group is currently full, but if you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email admin@iahip.org and your request will be forwarded to Anne Farrington.

We have also recently started an in-person Creative Peer Supervision group facilitated by two members; Therese O’Driscoll and Imogen O’Connor in Therese’s therapy space An Talamh in Screen, Co Sligo. This group will be meeting quarterly for the present.
