    Online Personal Development Constellations Group

The group will provide a safe space for ongoing reflection, support and personal growth. Using a family constellations lens, each participant will have the opportunity, over the course of the eight weeks to do a constellation. There will also be space for supporting one another on our internal journey. Over time, we have experienced this as a journey home to ourselves.

This short course (30 hours) is designed to help participants:

            manage personal and professional relationships

            set healthy boundaries

come to terms with difficult life experiences

            deal with grief and loss

            support themselves in family life

be free of entanglements from the past

lead their own lives in their time.

Starts October 3rd and then Wednesday evenings. For full course schedule and further details https://www.familyconstellationsireland.com/personal-development-group

    Constellation Facilitation Practice Online

This 36 hour course is designed for those who have completed a Core Training in Family Constellations, have some experience in applying the concepts in their individual practice and would like to start facilitating full constellations.

Building on the skills acquired in your basic training, this course will allow each participant the opportunity to facilitate a full constellation over the course of the training, in a fully supported way. There will be opportunities to discuss and learn from other group members. We will examine the challenges that may arise and discuss strategies that can be used to deal with these challenges. Depending on the needs of the group, we will offer opportunities for reflection, personal development, small group work, and constellation practice in a safe and supervised setting.

The core emphasis will be on supporting participants to learn by doing. Participants will be supported by Brendan and Eileen as they work with their peers as part of a group learning process. Working in this way offers us the opportunity to learn from each other as we share our skills and experience. Each of us has our own gifts.

    Requirements:

We expect that participants should have:

    - completed a core training in Family Constellations that includes elements of Theory and Practice

    - some other experience of using a Family Constellation Lens in individual practice or in a one-to-one setting

    - sufficient personal and professional supports

Starts October 2nd, and then Thursday evenings. For full course schedule and further details

“Lightness of Being”: Self-Care Body & Mind Workshop

This is an embodied journey fusing Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and aspects of Yoga Somatics for body and mind sensitisation and rejuvenation.

This is a two-hour experiential workshop with an invitation to meet yourself with lightness, spaciousness and subtle awareness. We will use the floor with some Yoga Somatics techniques to make contact with the body to ground, soften and meet ourselves with vibrant sensitivity. This is an exploration about how we can move between the inner, outer and more subtle parts of our being; travel lightly through these fabrics engaging our senses, feeling body and inner awareness.

The Yin Yoga practice will be taught through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the 5 Element Theory where we work along the meridians to improve the flow of “chi” or energy. We will connect with the gifts of the Earth Element such as grounding, connection and protection. There will be ample time for stillness which is the essence of Yin and reflection. Stillness allows the body to absorb the energetic benefits of the practice and slows down the thinking mind. We will conclude with a Yoga Nidra effortless guided meditation to allow time for the practices to integrate and come to deep rest. Yoga Nidra, also known as “yogic sleep” is usually practiced lying down and is highly restorative for mind and body. Some ambient pieces of music will be included to allow for immersion and integration. The workshop will conclude with space for silence.

Having a body-mind practice is essential to restore our energy and vitality. Deirdre has a particular interest in the subtle body and energetics and how we can use these practices to cultivate our sensory and body awareness, to feel energised, replenished and alive in ourselves and also to client experiences (countertransference/somatic awareness).

This combination of yoga, somatic movement techniques, stillness and meditation have come out of Deirdre’s own personal “felt” experience and belief that these restorative practices are an essential self-care tool for therapists and those working in the healing profession.

    Date: Sunday 12th September 2021

Time: 3-5pm delivered via Zoom. Recording will be available for a 7-day playback. Zoom link and practicalities will be sent the day before.

    Investment: €40

10% discount for IAHIP members using CODE: LIGHTNESS if booked before 2nd September 2021.

CPD: 2 hours (Certificates of Attendance will be sent post-workshop)

    To book, please visit:

Suitability: This workshop is suitable for all levels but not for pregnant students. If you have any injuries/illnesses that may affect you practicing, please contact me at the email below to discuss before booking. No previous experience of yoga is required but rather an openness and curiosity to explore.

For any questions, please contact Deirdre at livingroomyoga1@gmail.com

You can also read more here about Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra

Deirdre Madden is a qualified and accredited psychotherapist and yoga teacher based in Dublin. She initially trained as a Vinyasa Flow teacher and then furthered her yoga studies to the practice of Yin Yoga which is slower and more meditative; also known as “mindfulness yoga”. She has recently deepened her yoga journey and undertaken a training in Yoga Somatics which is a contemporary perspective of yoga, combining traditional yoga studies, modern somatic approaches, meditative techniques and self-inquiry.

She has delivered creative workshops and series blending these body-mind modalities with a focus on inner contact, sensory and subtle awareness and the journey of the Self. Deirdre has a particular interest in working with the subtle body (energy body), energetics and senses. Her inspiration draws from the arts, travel and nature and she also writes some poetry.

    Testimonials:

“Deirdre's yoga workshops were very authentic, and the delivery and flow was very well paced. Deirdre's teaching is intuitive, warm, friendly and supportive. Looking forward to the next yoga workshop.”  ~ Grainne

“That was such a great session yesterday. I had so much tension that I never knew. I had the most restful sleep I had in a long time.”  ~ Inge

Are you an IAHIP Accredited or Pre-Accredited member interested in integrating nature into your therapy practice or taking therapy sessions outside? If so, my highly interactive and practical Autumn 2021 courses will be of interest to you.

Course 1: Experiential Outdoor CPD Workshop for Therapists

    When:        Sun. 29th August 2021 :10am-5pm IST

    Price:          €120 (6Hrs CPD)

Where:       Delivered In-Person in The Glen, Ennistymon, Co. Clare

Places:       Max number of participants 10

Visit JoanneHanrahan.ie or Contact JoannePsychotherapy@gmail.com for Details

Join me in exploring your own process outdoors, engaging with the natural world and with other like-minded professionals.  This workshop will compliment another longer CPD training in outdoor therapy or could give you a taster of how it may be to work outdoors prior to considering a further training. If you are already seeing clients outdoors this will provide a space for you to discuss your practice and gain more experience of being a client in the outdoors.  Also, very importantly this will be a day to give yourself time to ‘just be’ in nature.

    Course Structure:

    * This workshop will be experiential and will be held entirely outdoors in a rich natural space in Ennistymon Co.Clare

    * Participant numbers will be limited to enhance the personal experience and processing time.

    * The day will include a number of nature-based exercises and reflection.

    * Time will be given to peer counselling (dyad work) so that you can experience both being therapist and client outdoors and process that experience in the group.

    * The venue site contains a waterfall, meandering river, woodlands with a path and a wilder woodland area.

    * The Falls Hotel is situated which is where we will meet in the morning for outdoor coffee/tea and will have access to toilet facilities etc.

    * Participants will be required to wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring sit mat/portable camping chair – more detail will be given on booking.

This Course has now been run 2 times and has had great feedback.  I take participant feedback very seriously and continually look to improve the content and delivery.  My first session had an average 4.6 Star rating while the June session earned a 5 Star average review.

Course 2: Online Outdoor Psychotherapy CPD Training

    When:         Sunday 12th, 19th and 26th September 2021: 08:30am – 2:30pm IST

Cost:           Price: €300 (15 Hours CPD)

Where:        Delivered Online Via Zoom with Experiential Exercises Outdoors at Home

Places:        Max Number of Participants is 10

Visit JoanneHanrahan.ie or Contact JoannePsychotherapy@gmail.com for Details

This course will help you learn of the background, theoretical underpinnings, and practical implications of seeing clients outdoors. You will gain knowledge of clinical vignettes and explore how you might consider integrating nature more into your practice. It will be held fully online but will be very interactive and include group discussion, breakout rooms, and nature-based exercises in participants’ own gardens.

This Course has now been run 4 times and has had great feedback.  I take participant feedback very seriously and continually look to improve the content and delivery.  My last 2 sessions have both earned 5 Star average reviews.

    Course Structure:

    * This unique course is developed to allow participants to engage in a very interesting and blended learning experience.

    * It is designed as a highly interactive small group training which will include periods of outdoor time.

    * Participants will engage with natural environments local to them during the course – this may be a garden, local park, country road etc.

    * Further outdoor experiences will be encouraged between workshops

Check out my recent article in the Spring Edition of Inside Out or on the Nature Therapy section of my websitefor some insight into the theory and practice of working outdoors. While the article is more academic than the workshop, it will provide some background into this growing area of practice.

    The Art of Wanting

'to be running breathlessly toward, but not yet arrived is itself delightful, a suspended moment of living hope...'

    Anne Carson

with Emma Philbin Bowman and Simon Courtney

a comprehensive course on Teachable, with 8 live sessions on zoom

    Saturday mornings, 9-11am, October 16-Dec 11 2021

The Art of Wanting offers a rare opportunity to engage with a theme that touches all of us deeply: how we may live in more authentic, healthy dialogue with our longings and desires.

Psychotherapist, Writer and Facilitator, Emma Philbin Bowman created this course in response to how easily we can neglect this crucial element in our lives. She and Simon are delighted to be offering a new live group on Saturday mornings from mid-October.

We have found wanting is a particularly valuable theme to explore in a safe, contained and intentional group. This deepens our sense of the range of each theme and expands our empathy with ourselves and others.

The course is carefully designed to support each participant's unique journeyEach week contains:

    • a fresh module on teachable organised in brief, digestible kernels
    • our live meeting where we work with the material in the full group and smaller breakout sessions
    • thematic guided meditations for a slower, more embodied process
    • 'Optional Deepening' section for a more comprehensive treatment of the theme

More info – full curriculum and testimonials here. Book in August for Early Bird IAHIP discount. The code is CARPEDIEM, or use this direct link

This course aims to deepen and enrich our engagement with the deep value of wanting as a natural and healthy source of energy and creativity.

We explore wanting as a capacity that can be developed and deployed with increasing skill, flexibility, genuineness and intimacy. (This is not a course about entitlement or success - more a recovery training for those of us who feel muted, vague or hesitant to honour our needs, longings and desires).

The Art of Wanting is carefully structured to support each participants’ unique journey. We offer an optional 20 minute 1:1 session at the commencement of the course and during the integration week:

“Brilliant, inspiring, warm, engaging...I loved the theme of the course. It met all my expectations and more. I love the style of Emma's facilitation, the quality of teamwork, videos and writings, the generosity of engagement.”

    Ebru Nuhoglu Reilly, Participant

“I found it an excellent course and it far exceeded my expectations in terms of its richness, content delivery and engagement with other participants. It has opened up new forms of discovery...”

    Wayne Dignam, Participant

“The live sessions are what made the big difference… I loved the group element and the noticing of similar and different themes and the way they all seemed to add to the richness of the theme - the “we” element was very powerful.”

    Ciara O’Neill, Participant
