Salary

• 25 hours per week over 5 days (including x1 evening) €39,000 per annum
• 20 hours per week over 4 days (including x1 evening) €31,200 per annum
• 15 hours per week over 3 days (including x1 evening) €23,400 per annum

Role & Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Lead Therapist the role of the Therapist is to provide professional and compassionate therapeutic support to individuals who are in suicidal or self-harm crisis, and those bereaved by suicide.

·         Conduct face to face risk & suitability assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate

·         Provide evidence informed, brief, strengths based & goal focused interventions

·         Work in accordance with Pieta’s Policies, Procedures and Guidelines

·         Liaise and consult with other professionals in supporting the client as required

·         Maintain accurate, confidential records of practice using Salesforce

·         Attend external clinical supervision twice per month (paid by Pieta) and attend group supervision internally in Pieta once per month

·         Contribute to research, audit and evaluation of the service as required

·         Maintain professional and personal boundaries

·         Participate in team meetings and attend other meetings as deemed necessary

·         Share information with the Lead Therapist, Regional Manager, Pieta team and other services as appropriate in accordance with good practice

Education, Skills & Experience Required:

• A recognized qualification at minimum Level 7 or higher qualification on the NQAI framework in Counselling or a Level 9 in Counselling Psychology.
• Be a fully accredited Psychotherapist / Counselling Psychologist with IAHIP, IACP, BACP, FTAI, IAPTP, APPI, APCP, NAPCP, PSI or ICP.
• Experience of working with crisis intervention and suicide bereavement
• Knowledge of Brief Solution Focused Interventions, CBT etc.
• Ability to reflect on practice in order to facilitate personal learning, professional development and service improvement
• Demonstrate great warmth and the ability to empathize
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team
• Strong time management skills and capacity to prioritize competing demands
• Ability to foster good working relationships with external agencies and organisations
• Ability to fulfil obligations as per the Children First Act 2015

Role & Responsibilities:

The role of the Centre Administrator is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all who attend, as well as ensuring the smooth running of the centre’s daily activities and be present in the centre. Reporting directly to the Lead Therapist this role will include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Welcoming clients to the centre and general reception duties
• Managing petty cash, post and donations in line with Pieta policy
• Completing required maintenance and safety checks and linking with operational department around these
• Provide administrative support to therapists under the direction of Lead Therapist
• Organising meetings and take minutes as required
• Ensure appropriate filing system (both paper and electronic)
• Ensure data kept in line with GDPR, data protection and confidentiality policies
• Opening and closing of the Pieta centre
• Ensure appropriate resources available for smooth running of the centre in line with centre budget and maintain office equipment and coordinate purchasing and delivery of office stationery
• Ensure invoices and back-up documentation are submitted on time
• Work in accordance with the policies and procedures of Pieta
• Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be requested by Pieta
• This role requires flexibility to cover annual leave, sick cover and some evening and/or weekend work

Who is this workshop for?

This is an introductory workshop which is for therapists working in any modality who wish to be more confident in dealing with the issue of suicide when it arises in the clinic.

Seminar Presenter – Dermot Gough

Dermot has been working in the area of addiction since 1994, his experience being quite unique in that he has worked in the Voluntary, Community and Statutory sectors. He qualified as a psychoanalyst in 2008, also joined APPI that same year. He has worked with trauma on a very regular basis at it presents itself in the clinic.

It was during his time working for the Statutory sector, that Dermot trained as an ASIST trainer and also later as a SafeTALK trainer. Both of these training programmes are part of the National Office of Suicide Protection strategy for reducing suicide in Ireland.

Dermot is also a member of the Executive Committee of the APPI.

Seminar Host – Elin Payne

Elin Payne is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Galway. A member of APPI since 2011, she is a member of the APPI Executive Committee.

me effort to throw light on the psychological significance and consequences of the pandemic. Through the Jungian lens we may be enabled to gain some understanding of the negative effects of Lockdown as well as appreciating its potentially healing significance.

Jim Fitzgerald trained as an analyst in The C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich. He is a Senior Member of the Independent Group of Analytical Psychologists in London. He has a private practice in London and has lectured widely.

Role: Crisis Helpline Co-ordinator

The Pieta 24hr Crisis Helpline is a confidential and professional service providing telephone/SMS counselling, crisis support, advice, and referral for those bereaved through suicide, engaging in self-harm, experiencing suicide ideation and concerned friends or family members.

Pieta is presently recruiting for a Helpline Coordinator to join our existing team. The role of Helpline Coordinator is support the staff and operation of the Crisis Helpline. Reporting directly to the National Helpline & Therapy Services Line Manager this role will include, but may not be limited to the following:

Role & Responsibilities:

• ·         Ability to support the day-to-day operation of the Helpline team
• ·         Co-ordinate internal meetings as appropriate e.g. staff/clinical meetings
• ·         Support the coaching, training and development of new team members
• ·         Oversee file management in-line with GDPR, data protection and confidentiality
• ·         Complete and co-ordinate roster on a monthly basis
