Seeking Psychotherapists Who Work with Musicians

I am seeking fully qualified and accredited psychotherapists who have experience, and an interest, in working therapeutically with musicians.

As part of my Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy through Turning Point Institute, I am undertaking research. I would love the opportunity to interview you about your experiences with this work. These interviews would last approximately 45-60 minutes and would be audio-recorded to enable transcription and qualitative analysis.

The name of the study is ‘Supporting Acts: An exploration of factors affecting musicians’ wellbeing through the eyes of those working closely with them.’ The research is being supervised by Belinda Moller.

This research aims to

  1. Explore issues that affect musicians’ wellbeing, positively and negatively, through the eyes of those working closely with them;
  2. Examine some of the existing wellbeing supports and practices (formal and informal) offered by people working with musicians across different professional areas; and
  3. Explore how professionals currently working with musicians experience their supporting role.

If you are interested in taking part or finding out more, please email me – Aoife Ruth (114130262@umail.ucc.ie) – and I can provide you with a full Information Sheet. All correspondence will be treated confidentially.

Many thanks.

Aoife Ruth
