Held in Mind?
How do therapists continue to experience an in-depth therapeutic relationship in between sessions?
My name is Elisabeth Swan, I am a Pre-Accredited Member of the IACP, currently completing my BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Cork Counselling Services Training Institute and Coventry University.
As part of the requirements for my degree I am undertaking a research project titled: Held in Mind? a qualitative exploration of therapists’ experiences of the space in between sessions. The aim is to imaginatively explore the therapeutic relationship, what it means to be psychotherapist, and how the relationship is experienced in the client’s absence.
If you have worked as a psychotherapist for at least 5 years since your qualification, have worked with at least one client in the last 2 years with whom you felt you had established an in-depth relationship, and would be interested in sharing your experience, I would very much appreciate your participation.
If you choose to volunteer, I will post a questionnaire kit to you. All the information shared will be treated with confidentiality and a pseudonym you choose will be used throughout. You will have the right to withdraw from the study at any time.
Thank you for your consideration. If you would like to participate, please contact me by phone/email.
