Join a group of mental health professionals, psychotherapists and counsellors for a unique 24-hour training with daily one-hour live meetings and develop essential skills in supporting and resourcing clients to remain calm, connected and responsive during these difficult times.
– Learn essential skills from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help clients manage obsessive thinking and intense emotions in working through uncertainty. Utilise the most proficient ways for managing anxiety, panic, worry, low mood and catastrophic thinking.
– Explore and integrative five principles for wellbeing and resilience during times of crisis and uncertainty.
– Understand and respond to health anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and overwhelming feelings of anxiety, loss of control, and intense emotions during a pandemic.
– Utilise evidence-based interventions to enhance psychological wellbeing by supporting your clients to develop positive habits of mind through the attitudes of mindfulness and creative exercises to enhance mood positively during these unsettling times.
– Develop relational skills for adapting to online and telephone counselling and helping to resource your clients during the uncertainty of lockdown and social distancing. Integrate guidance and resources for delivering treatment remotely during the coronavirus pandemic. Enhance the therapeutic space between therapist and client as we adapt and respond to online therapy.
– Support clients in maintaining structure, routine, relationships and mood while self-isolating and staying indoors. Support clients in developing coping skills and self-compassion during the quarantine and lockdown.
– Learn key-skills from CBT-i and coronavirus related insomnia. Strategies to overcome sleep dysregulation triggered by interruption, lack of structure and social distancing.
– Deepen your understanding of neuroscience, the evolutionary brain and Buddhist psychology to make sense of the responsive and reactionary instincts that take place during a crisis.
– Receive daily notes and exercises to share with clients and activities that support self-care, self-reflection and self-practice to remain calm, connected and present during these uncertain times.
– Explore and learn about online video-conferencing platforms, confidentiality, encryption, electronic payment, contracting, consent, ethical concerns and transitioning from face-to-face therapy to online treatment.
Daily online meetings via Zoom from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with live seminar, training, interaction, and discussion. Total 24 hours, including training, certificate, notes/resources.

Facilitator/Trainer: Gerry Cunningham has been extensively trained in Mindfulness-Based Approaches and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. He studied for three years at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford (Masters in MCBT and PG Diploma in CBT). He has trained in psychotherapy (Dublin City University) and Child and Adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy (University of Cambridge, M. Ed). He has a Masters in Spirituality, BA in Philosophy, and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision. He is currently pursuing research interested at the University of Oxford and training at The International Centre for Clinical Excellence.
