Facilitator: Gayle Williamson (MIACP) has written widely on mental health issues and in recent years has devoted herself entirely to the IFS model after experiencing it's transformative effects on her practice.

This small, online training is an intensive experiential grounding in the IFS approach, for those who have taken Gayle's Foundations in IFS course (Beginners 1) or an equivalent introductory IFS training.

The focus is on demos (live and recorded) and on participant skills practice. This is a valuable opportunity to develop your skills in working with exiles and protectors, as you will rarely find a training group as small as this - the maximum number of participants is 8 - where Gayle will be doing everything she can to make it feel as safe and non-intimidating as possible.

Next Beginners 2 group starts: Friday, September 16, for six consecutive Fridays, 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Course fee: €320. More information: www.ferneytherapy.ie

To book: email Gayle at enq.ferneytherapy@hotmail.com

Previous participants' feedback: "Gayle’s passion, knowledge and expertise in presenting the Internal Family Systems training was delivered in a very safe, collaborative and inclusive way." - Pauline, psychotherapist. "The course was everything I hoped it would be, and has transformed my practice." - Michelle, psychotherapist.

Sandra Mullen: Gestalt Psychotherapist, Accredited Supervisor MIAHIP, MICP

Supervision is a space for counsellors, psychotherapists, and allied health professionals to develop their skills, protect from burnout and explore their own personal and professional development. It is a dynamic learning and development process in which both parties learn and grow together. (Page & Wosket 199:4). The Gestalt Relational model of Group supervision forms the foundation of a supervisory relationship based on the philosophical principles of existential phenomenology, field theory and dialogic existentialism, a relationship that can hold safely what Yontef describes as our ‘Moment to moment experience of the ‘between’ and of the mutual influencing and co creation of meaning’ (Yontef 2002:15).

This supervision group will be a holding space for therapists where they can be supported to stay with and reflect on how they impact and are impacted by their clients. Providing the opportunity where they can be curious and learn from their experience of what is evoked in them, including their struggles, doubts, and growing edges as they emerge in the group and ultimately to support them in providing a safe holding space for their clients.

Sandra is a Gestalt Psychotherapist and Supervisor accredited with IAHIP and ICP. She trained in Gestalt Psychotherapy with the Gestalt Institute of Ireland (GII) and completed her training in Relational Gestalt Supervision with the Dublin Gestalt Centre (DGC). Sandra has a background in the community and voluntary sector with over 25 years’ experience providing personal development, educational and community-based programmes for individuals, families, and groups. Being Human: Six Ways We Need Each Other

    with psychotherapist Emma Philbin Bowman

a live journey, six Tuesday evenings on zoom

    6-7.30pm (Irish) September 13-October 17

    Max Participants: 16

‘Emma's ability to communicate complex concepts and themes in simple language is a gift...’

    Maria, Cork

In Being Human, psychotherapist, writer and facilitator Emma Philbin Bowman explores the rich territory of our relational lives within the support of a small, intentional group.

Drawing on an integrative model based in self-psychology and object relations, this highly accessible course explores six forms of connection each of us need in order to thrive: containment, mirroring, twinship, adversity, resonance and partnership. Participants will develop a clear, intuitive understanding of each form and its unique value and potency in our lives with others.

Each week will have two elements: the week's content - in clear accessible modules on Teachable - and a live session, where Emma will present the theme and blend group work with more intimate inquiry exercises.

This material is evocative but gentle, providing a refreshing and spacious lens by which to revisit our lives with others. Originally inspired by Stephen Cope’s exceptional template in Soul Friends, this course celebrates how different forms of connection enable us to thrive across the arc of our lives. These themes are hugely rich to explore in a small group, and much of our learning will arise together.

Being Human draws on the self-object work of Heinz Kohut, and is also informed by Winnicott, Hillman and contemporary neuroscience. It is designed to benefit participants in their personal process and in their work with others. Special IAHIP pricing available to August 30th. [CPD Certs available]

This course is also available as a stand-alone offering without live sessions – email: emmapb@me.com for info or see my school on teachable.

"Life doesn’t make any sense without interdependence.

We need each other, and the sooner we learn that, the better for us all."

Existential Conversations - 3rd Series (Online)

A guided learning workshop and reflective development space to explore existential life issues, for the benefit of both the psychotherapist and their clients.

6 sessions x 2 hours on specific existential topics   Limited to 6 - 10 participants

For the third season, ‘Existential Conversations’ is being offered in Ireland. Each session in this series will begin with a short lecture by Allison Joyner on a specific existential topic (e.g., Death, Freedom, Choice etc), followed by group discussion and personal reflection to make the theory relevant to the professional’s practice and their personal lives. Allison will help guide the members in their exploration and understanding of the subject matter, and possible application.

This group approach will heighten people’s understanding of their position in life, and ideally help clarify what it means for them to truly live life fully. This is a unique, private, closed group that involves a free flow of thought and consciousness and supports curiosity, openness, and truth.

It is suitable for those new to existential ideas or those who already have some knowledge and would like to learn more, develop a deeper understanding of, and have a place to discuss, existential concepts.

If you are interested in taking ownership of your own life, choosing one that liberates rather than constrains, and in equipping yourself to better support your clients in their existential challenges, then this is the space to share that journey.

All groups have 6 – 10 members. They meet once a month (online) for 2 hours. A commitment for six sessions is necessary to allow for group safety and trust to develop.

When: First Thursday of each month

    Times: 19:30 – 21:30 (Irish Time)

For further information or to book a place on this group, please go to https://allisonjoyner.ie/group-work/
