    Tending Our Futures 2022

'The future enters into us, in order to transform itself in us, long before it happens...'

    Rilke

October 1 - December 3, Saturday mornings* 9-11am on zoom*

    with Emma Philbin Bowman, MIAHIP

    (and Sue Robertson)

(we pause for half-term on October 29 and November 5)

This course will appeal to those seeking a deep, textured context in which to freshly sense our own lives. The group will be small, and our live sessions form the heart of the course experience.

Tending Our Futures explores essential themes: our relationship to destiny, our subtle callings, our capacity to embrace our past and align with our future possibilities, including our aging and passing. Emma has a passion for sharing theory in rich, accessible ways, and for the beauty of exploring in small intentional groups.

Taking as touchstones the qualities of Presence, Integration and Emergence, we meet over eight weeks to arrive more richly in this moment and deepen our care for our futures. We each have unique sensibilities and specific histories; this course enables us to embrace the wide span of our lives in support of our ripening.

Our live sessions are complemented by weekly material on Teachable, offered in brief, pre-recorded videos and audio reflections. This material is drawn from a life-long immersion in depth psychology and spiritual practice, and from sources as diverse as Leonard Cohen, Christopher Bollas and Thomas Hubl. Participants retain access to this material for two years after the course.

CPD points are available. Link to IAHIP special pricing here: If you are drawn to participate, but have any questions, please email Emma by September 17th to arrange a brief consult: emmapb@me.com

Voices of Past Participants of Tending our Futures

‘The themes are resonating strongly with me long after the course has finished. The content was superb.

Emma’s ability to communicate complex concepts and themes in simple language is a gift…’

    Maria, Cork

‘…deeply valuable in relation to where I am currently in my life experience; it raised my awareness of nourishing my future, now…’

    Sylvia Rowe, (retired psychotherapist)

‘I loved the content, and the format was perfect; I do feel more open and loving and authentic as a human being since the course. It’s subtle, but there is a gently expanded inner spaciousness…’

    Kieran McKeown

One of the most beautiful pieces for me was I knew I had changed by being part of the group & engaging with the themes. It felt like such a gentle process.

A slow gentle change over time that I hardly noticed I was changing, until it was there. It felt like the themes seeped into me as I was held in a very safe space with Emma and the other participants. It really was a beautiful experience and I loved being part of this group. I would highly recommend Emma and this course.

    MD, Psychotherapist

'It’s hard to do justice to the course. To know it is possible to communicate with people from a place of authenticity is grounding, comforting, uplifting, hope inducing and powerful…it has allowed me to seek out this deeper connection with people around me…'

    Jean, Pharmacist
