The Inner Adolescent
Implications for adult psychopathology and healing
Psychotherapists recognise many of their adult clients as being developmentally ‘immature’. A significant majority of adult mental health issues have their origins in adolescence - research indicating that at least 75% of psychiatric disorders emerge during this developmental stage.
The focus of this workshop is to illuminate the transformative possibility of deep and compassionate connection with the inner adolescent - a powerful heaing process which is commonly overlooked when working with adult clients.
Starrs, a recognised expert in the field of adolescent psychotherapy, offers participants a weave of her understanding, exploring the adolescent-through-adult journey from existential, neuroscience and interpersonal perspectives.
