Invitation to Participate in Research

31/01/2023 14:45 | Anonymous member (Administrator)

You are invited to participate in my research study entitled “An exploration of how adult romantic relationships are influenced by early attachment styles. A therapist’s perspective”.

The purpose of this research is to explore how early attachment styles influence adult romantic relationships based on a therapist’s perspective of ‘lived experiences’ with clients. It will explore the effect of early attachment styles on long term single adults and analyse how different attachment styles impact on adult romantic relationships. Furthermore, it will examine the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client with various attachment styles.

You are eligible to participate in this qualitative study if you are an accredited psychotherapist who holds either a degree or masters in counselling/psychotherapy and who has over five or more years’ experience working with clients with attachment issues. I am seeking psychotherapists who specialize in attachment theory, relationships, or couples counselling.

You will be invited to take part in a video call interview over a secure Zoom platform and an audio recording will be made. This is likely to last one hour approximately. Your participation in this study will be completely voluntary.

This research is being undertaken by Danika Hoare, who is a student on the Master of Science in Pluralistic Counselling and psychotherapy program with IICP.

If you are interested or would like more information on this study, please contact me by email at danikahoare@gmail.com or phone 087 438 7007.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Kind regards,

Danika Hoare
