The Social and Health Education Project CLG (SHEP) is a community-based training and development organisation funded by the HSE (Section 39). We work together with individuals and communities to develop capacities for positive change, to enhance health and well-being and to promote social justice.

(Senior) Training & Development Officer

(Personal Development): Full-time/part-time

We are now inviting applications for this senior position based at SHEP’s main office and training centre at Ardfoyle, Ballintemple, Cork.

There is one position to be filled – and the successful candidate will be appointed as a either Training & Development Officer or Senior Training and Development officer, depending on experience. The position may be full-time or part-time. We are also open to job-sharing possibilities.

The Senior Training & Development Officer is a senior position in the organisation. The main responsibilities include: overseeing the development and delivery of a range of high quality courses in personal development (at foundation, intermediate and tutor training level); and ensuring that the Project has a sustained capacity to deliver such programmes through the on-going training, support and professional supervision of a large body of SHEP Group Facilitators.

The following are essential: Accredited membership of IAHIP and/or IACP; commitment to the values and ethos of SHEP; minimum of five years’ relevant experience; significant training in, and experience of, facilitating experiential (personal development) group-work; excellent interpersonal skills; and proven organisational skills.

The following would be a distinct advantage:; knowledge of SHEP’s training programme; and experience of curriculum design/course development.
