A Mixed Methods Study of Irish Psychotherapists Attitudes towards Persons who are Homeless and Persons experiencing Mental Illness.
I am currently a fourth-year student at Turning Point Institute and Dublin City University completing an MSc. In Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am completing this research as part of my course requirements. If you are a qualified therapist you are eligible to take part in this study.
Details of what involvement in this Research Study will require
This study seeks to gain an understanding of psychotherapists’ attitudes towards persons who are homeless and of persons experiencing mental illness. Through participating you will be contributing to a body of knowledge on this topic which especially important as Ireland is currently experiencing extremely high levels of homelessness. If you agree to partake in this study, you will be asked the following:
- Complete a survey (please see link below) which will take approximately 15 minutes.
- Participation in this research is totally voluntary. You are not under any obligation to answer any questions, especially if they make you feel uncomfortable.
This is an anonymous survey, and every effort has been made to ensure your anonymity. To comply with Data Protection Law, all the anonymous data, raw material (hard copy, digital files and so on) will be held for 5 years and then destroyed. This will be conducted under the direction of the TPI MSc Programme Director and a Confirmation of Data Destruction form will be filled out by the researcher.
