Invitation to participate in a research study:
You are invited to participate in a study entitled ‘Recent psychotherapy graduates’ experiences of relational depth and disconnection with clients during their training’, as part of my Masters’ study in psychotherapy at Dublin City University. The purpose of my study is to illuminate therapists’ experiences of relational depth and disconnection in the therapeutic relationship with clients during their training. We have strong evidence regarding the importance of the therapeutic relationship as a key factor in good outcomes for clients. However, we know very little about how therapists develop their relational capacity during training and with your help, I hope to illuminate this process to inform psychotherapy training.
You are eligible to participate in this study if you have successfully completed a humanistic and/or integrative psychotherapy training programme within the past five years; and if you have had experience of relational depth and/or disconnection with clients during your training. You will be invited to take part in an interview lasting approximately one hour at your office or in Dublin City University. Your participation in this study will be completely voluntary.
If you would like to learn more about this study, please contact me by phone: 087 6208156 or alternatively by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your time and consideration.
