An exploration of the therapist’s role and experience when clients withdraw early from psychotherapy.
Dear Psychotherapist/ trainee psychotherapist,
My name is Sinéad Smith and I am carrying out a research project as part of a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy in the Turning Point Training Institute in association with the School of Nursing at Dublin City University (DCU).
The title of my project is; An exploration of the therapist’s role and experience when clients withdraw early from psychotherapy and I would greatly appreciate your participation in this research project.
You are being invited to engage in the completion of an online survey that will ask you questions in relation to exploring and understanding your role and experience as a therapist when your clients withdraw early from a programme of therapy. You will also be asked questions in relation to how this has impacted on you personally and professionally.
There will be 44 questions in the survey and the estimated time to complete the survey is 15 minutes.
All information gathered through the online survey will be completely confidential as the survey is anonymous and your responses will be received through a secure platform called Qualtrics.
Within the survey, I include the Plain Language Statement, which gives you more information on anonymity, confidentiality and data protection elements to this project. Included in this document are also my contact details and the contact details of my supervisor should you need to contact us at any time.
