Benefits of Joining IAHIP
Associates and Accredited Members are supported throughout their careers and enjoy various benefits. Once you join as a Member or an Associate you have access to a range of supports:
Professional recognition of your training and experience through our accreditation process. Accredited Members are entitled to use MIAHIP after their name. IAHIP Accreditation is the mark of quality for high standards of training, professional and ethical practice.
Once accredited Members will receive a professional membership certificate giving an opportunity to display it proudly as a great achievement and indication of the level of professionalism and quality that they have achieved.
International and national recognition is provided for Accredited Members through opportunity to apply for European Certificate for Psychotherapy from the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and ability to register to be included on the Irish Council for Psychotherapy’s (ICP) register.
Regional Groups provide support and networking opportunities. Regional group meetings are a safe space where you can connect with local colleagues and learn from experienced practitioners.
Weekly IAHIP Classifieds are a great source of information, and here you will find details of external workshops, job opportunities, rooms for hire and more.
Throughout the year we offer vital continuing professional development opportunities through a range of workshops, seminars and webinars at discounted price. These cover a wide range of interesting and trending topics.
Free subscription to Inside Out Journal - IAHIP’s peer reviewed journal devoted to inspiring the sharing of ideas among those within and around the psychotherapy community. Inside Out is published three times a year.
Accredited members are listed on IAHIP’s online Psychotherapist Directory. This directory is a great tool for not only the public to find a psychotherapist but is regularly used by colleagues and other professionals to refer to clients.
We have developed an ‘Accredited By IAHIP' logo for accredited members to add to their promotional material, website(s) and other communications channels. This provides mark of trust and credibility to your practice, and importantly help the public to understand, at a glance, that you have been trained to the highest levels.
Attendance at AGM is a good opportunity to ensure you are fully informed of current IAHIP activities with Accredited members having the right to vote on motions and elections to the Governing Board.
Accredited members can get involved with IAHIP policy and development by joining the Governing Board and Committees.
