Mother Daughter Sexual Abuse
Training for Professionals to Support Survivors
This training workshop will include a presentation and discussion covering the various aspects of this type of abuse. It will cover the effects on survivors and what they need in their recovery. We will look at what mother daughter sexual abuse is and how it differs and compares with other forms of incest and sexual abuse. We will also cover the impact on attachment, the effects on survivors’ lives, their family of origin and mother as perpetrator. There will also be a brief documentary featuring four survivors and an art therapy workshop which will give you an opportunity to explore what issues may arise for you should a client disclose to you that they experienced sexual abuse by their mother. There will also be time spent on the healing process and issues that may arise in the therapeutic relationship and through the therapeutic process.
