MBSR, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction is an eight-week course based on the ground-breaking work of Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn, led by Maureen Treanor, Facilitator.
Maureen is registered with FTAI (Family Therapy Association of Ireland), ICP (Irish Council for Psychotherapy) and IAAAC (Irish Association of Alcohol and Addiction Counsellors). She has trained in MBSR with the Institute of Mindfulness (Germany) and is a certified MBSR teacher.
Maureen is an accredited psychotherapist and supervisor and has been using mindfulness and meditation to support her personal and professional life for many years.
Mindful Living – AN EIGHT-WEEK COURSE IN MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION.
Living Mindfully is the practice of slowing down, it is living more consciously, being fully present to ourselves, our world and our experience. We do this by paying attention moment by moment, cultivating a non-judgemental attitude.
MBSR, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction is an eight-week course based on the ground-breaking work of Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn. In 1979 Dr Kabat-Zinn began to teach patients the fundamentals of meditation to aid stress reduction. This course has helped improve thousands of lives and shown people how to live and cope with stress-related conditions and the pressures of everyday life.
This eight-week course will focus on teaching practical skills to support physical and mental wellbeing. Participants will be introduced to a variety of mindful practices, sitting meditation, body awareness and mindful movement. Participants will learn how to slow down and to nourish and care for themselves.
Many people find that participating in this course helps them to feel less stressed.
COURSE DATES 2012-13
The course is structured to support participant learning. It consists of eight weekly
classes (7.30pm-9.30pm) and a one-day workshop (10am – 4.30pm)
