Course: Counselling with Choice Theory, the new Reality Therapy

This two-day course is designed for anyone who wants to get a clear understanding of the essential elements that makes Choice Theory/Reality Therapy such a unique and effective modality in the treatment of addiction and related mental health issues.
This includes; case managers; project workers; counsellors; psychologists, social workers; probation officers; mental health professionals.
It will also be useful for anyone who has engaged in training in Reality Therapy/Choice Theory in the past and wants to refresh and update their knowledge.
Reality Therapy was created by Dr. William Glasser in the 1960’s and was instantly recognised and accepted as a relevant and effective modality in the treatment of addiction and other mental health problems. Since its formulation it has evolved and undergone some significant changes and refinements.
Today, Choice Theory is an internationally validated internal control psychology that teaches us how we can be more proactive in solving our own problems and take greater responsibility for our own lives. It teaches how to self-evaluate and make better choices that produce better outcomes.
This course will highlight and clarify some of the core beliefs and essential elements of Choice Theory Psychology and demonstrate how it can be used effectively with mental health issues.
